Susan Ann Samuel, PhD Researcher (University of Leeds), LLM (University of Edinburgh), BA LLB (GLC Trivandrum), is a lawyer in India and currently a doctoral student with the University of Leeds, School of Politics and International Studies. She serves as Research Fellow of Earth System Governance, the Regional Leader of Middle East in Global Climate Litigation Peer-Review Network in Sabin Center Climate Change Law - Columbia Law School, and is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law, the Global Network on Human Rights and Environment (GNHRE), American Branch of International Law Association (ABILA) and International Studies Association (ISA). Previously, she has served as Fellowship Officer at the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL), was an advisor to Climate Law and Governance Initiative (CLGI), worked at the District Court of Thiruvananthapuram - India as a junior lawyer and with the UN Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and Office Vienna - Office of Drugs and Crime (UNOV-UNODC), as a legal intern. She has published widely, and her research interests include climate law and politics, negotiations, norms theory, constructivism, human rights law, and sustainable development through a multidisciplinary lens.
